Classic Aperol Spritz

We love a classic Italian recipe - pasta, pizza, gelato - but what about a cocktail? Look no further because this Aperol Spritz is another perfect one.

Like how fresh and beautiful does this look? Fresh oranges, zesty aperol, bubbly prosecco, just enough ice to keep it cool for sipping. I mean, it's literally summer in a glass.

If you've never had an Aperol Spritz, it is an Italian cocktail with subtle sweetness, fruity notes, and nice and refreshing for a summer happy cocktail. If you have tried these before, you know just how good they can be. Either way, you need to try this recipe so let's get to it!

Ingredients

  • 0.5 ounce fresh orange juice (optional)

  • 0.5 ounce fresh grapefruit juice (optional)

  • 2 ounces Aperol

  • 3-4 ounces Prosecco

  • 1-2 ounces club soda

  • grapefruit or orange slices, for garnish

  • ice

Step 1: Slice and juice grapefruit and naval orange

If you're using fresh citrus juice for the cocktails, use a manual juicer with the grapefruit and orange. If you're not using fresh juice, feel free to use your choice of juice from the store.

Step 2: Make the cocktail

In a large wineglass, add the ice, juices, aperol, prosecco, and club soda. This really is a cocktail you can measure with your heart so feel free to "eyeball" the ingredients.

Then, garnish with orange and grapefruit slices. This makes 1 cocktail.

Enjoy!

This really is a very easy cocktail to make so when you're craving a refreshing happy hour beverage, this is the one. If you want to share this amazing recipe with your favourite people, make a big pitcher and multiply this recipe by however many servings you want to make. You'll be very popular!
