Apple Spice Bourbon Smash
2 ounce bourbon
1 ounce apple spice syrup
½ ounce lemon juice
Ice
1 ounce soda water
Cinnamon stick, for garnish
Step 1: Make the Apple Spice Syrup
Apple Spice Syrup
3 tablespoons honey
3 cinnamon sticks (or 1 teaspoon of dried cinnamon)
1 cup water
1 apple, diced
Pinch of salt
Start by adding all ingredients to a small pot and bringing to a boil. Once boiling, bring down to medium heat and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally to break down the apples. Remove from heat and pour through a strainer to remove the apples. Let cool for 20 minutes before making the cocktail.
Step 2: Shake & Pour
To make the cocktail, add the bourbon, apple spice syrup, lemon juice, and ice to a cocktail shaker and seal. Shake to cool completely, about 30 seconds. Pour into a tumbler glass filled with ice and top up with soda water. Garnish with apple slices and a cinnamon stick and enjoy!
